description   paintings

António Conceição understands painting in the purest classical realism, developed by the use of veiling with a close study of reality and a naturalist working method.

Belonging to a new generation of naturalist painters, this artist's work distinguishes itself by the different treatment given to the elements that make up the various levels depicted. Conceição focuses on the detail of the foreground figures, reducing attention to the details with the increasing distance, even ruling out the skyline, and in some cases, the treatment of the fund. The figures appear by this often as if suspended in a semi-blur, which by contrast gives them a greater feeling of realism.

Changes in scale and the subversion of concepts, as well as some of the thematic options, enclose the painting of this artist in contemporary art.
