“In this new project for the gallery Arthobler, entitled „Matt glass of double doors“, I want to focus on the themes which I work with for a long time and I want to give them a slightly different context.

I am interested in the relationship between the past and how it affects our immediate present, and of course the great length of time between where the real experiences are becoming dreams, recreating memories perhaps semi-lies and fictions.

This period is very important because my experience is that it largely affects how the person(me) sees himself. Perhaps the deformed and incompetent image of its experience is probably the only reference to the orientation in the world.

The interest in a way of extreme feelings of fear, isolation, etc. also comes from my childhood which I spent in the eighties during the Cold War in Communist Czechoslovakia in the suburbs of Prague.
I suppose that I move in the field of psychoanalysis and I could operate with its terms, still I don't want the possible interpretation of my work burden with instructions or perhaps with a direct response, some kind of freedom in interpreting is very attractive and important for me and I suppose that even for the viewer.

I work often with the places that have a special meaning for me (school, hospital-name of the show "Matt glass of double doors" refers to a common architectural element of the solution entering thus institutions). I visit and re-photograph them, the resulting image is not reality for what it is now even this is not a precise reconstruction of past. It processes both and create authentic output. I work also with the photos from the family archives, and found materials and it is always important to me that they evoke an emotion and information. Which I think is in certain time for the intended concept necessary.

The exhibition will combine media with whom I work as drawing, painting, puppet film, and sculpture (installation) ,in a way it will be the "entry into the head" (ideas) of another person, including a possible misunderstanding as a result of interaction. Sharing of doubts and assumptions with what we operate (discursus) is I think an essential part of any attempt for present communication.”
