The exuberance of Mário Vitória’s images holds to his prodigious imagination that allows him to create the most extensive narratives in a single canvas. He is a skillful artist in the field of metaphor, always so close to the human theater criticism. The work of this artist is thus made of a remarkable depth, mixing opposed elements in order to acknowledge the complementarity of forces, as if we were all inevitably the origin of good and evil. Therefore, it is not surprising that the scale of Mário Vitória’s references can start at Disney and reach Alfred Hitchcock, putting in the same scene the ingenuity, the melancholy, the aggression and even the grotesque. In a result which always ends up to be a clear violence of the existence, as if the existence, by definition, depends on or is made of violence.
